A message to our mob from the Northern, Tiwi and Anindilyakwa Aboriginal Land Councils and AMSANT

Today NT Chief Minister Gunner advised that the NT lockdown would be extended for a further 72 hours until 1pm on Friday 2nd July 2021.
The Chief Minister said the highly infectious Delta strain of COVID-19 was now in the Northern Territory.
He advised of a number of Public Exposure sites in Darwin. As the contact tracers do their work, it is important that people check the website daily for new exposure sites or ask your health service to check for updates, particularly if you have been in Darwin since 18 June 2021.
The Buff Club at Stuart Park is a Close Contact Site and around 150 people who were there between 3:30pm and 8:30pm on Friday 25 June are subject to Stay At Home Orders and must isolate themselves for 14 days and get tested.
BWS (Beer Wine Spirits) next to the Parap Hotel and the Bunnings Warehouse on Bagot Road are Casual Contact Sites. Any person who attended at BWS Parap between 4pm and 4:10pm on Friday 25 June 2021 or Bunnings Warehouse between 10am and 10:15am on Saturday 26 June 2021 must get tested and isolate themselves until such time as a negative result is provided for that test.
The Darwin Airport on 25 June 2021 between 1:30pm and 3:35pm an infected person attended at the arrivals and departures areas of the airport, two retail outlets – The Dome café and the Newsagency - and two bathrooms within the airport. Everyone that was in the Darwin Airport at that time should comply with the usual lock-down rules and take appropriate action if they have any symptoms.
Additional sites are the Corner Store Friendly Grocer, Stuart Park (Previously IGA) between 3.20pm and 3.30pm on Friday 25 June 2021 and the Commonwealth Bank at 67A Smith Street Darwin between 11.30am and 11.45am on Saturday 26 June 2021.
The CEOs and Chairpersons of the Northern, Tiwi and Anindilyakwa Aboriginal Land Councils and the Aboriginal Medical Alliance of the NT (AMSANT) encourage everyone to get vaccinated as soon as possible and provide the following message for Aboriginal people living in their areas:
“If you are in the Greater Darwin lockdown area you must stay there. If you are outside the lockdown area you should stay in your community. That is the safest place for you and your family. Stay Safe, Stay on Country, Look after Family.”
